The EAN Congress is one of the leading neurology events worldwide, uniting clinicians, researchers, educators, industry partners, and patient representatives.
As Europe’s ‘Home of Neurology’, each year, it serves as an interactive platform offering an exciting opportunity to share and discover the cutting-edge science that is shaping the future of neurology.
The EAN Congress 2026 programme features a broad range of symposia, workshops, teaching sessions, hands-on courses, and much more, with something to suit participants at every career stage and level of experience. Having received an all-time record 3,295 abstract submissions – more than 18% higher than the previous record – in early 2026, the EAN Congress 2026 looks set to be one of the biggest and best in the EAN’s history.
This year’s Opening Session welcomes 2024 Brain Prize winner Frank Winkler to deliver the Brain Prize Lecture on ‘Neural influences on brain tumour growth and therapy resistance’, while the always popular Presidential Symposium will feature Named Lectures from four eminent speakers. Manju Kurian, Anita Harding Award Lecturer, will discuss ‘Navigating the translational arc for childhood-onset genetic movement disorders’; Daniela Berg delivers the Moritz Romberg Award Lecture on ‘What research and patients may teach us: Parkinson’s disease – a history and perspective of learning’; Riccardo Soffietti will hold the Camillo Golgi Award Lecture on ‘Progress in gliomas: From histology to molecular biology and from surgery to precision therapies’; and John Rothwell presents the Charles-Édouard Brown-Sequard Award Lecture on ‘Non-invasive neuromodulation in neurology’.
The overarching theme of Brains, Bytes & Beyond: Tech in Neurology will provide a common thread running through a selection of invited lectures at the congress, including a special symposium on Innovations in Neurology and two focused workshops addressing AI applications in a wide range of clinical domains in both hospital and outpatient settings. Technological advances in computing are rapidly transforming clinical medicine, society, and ultimately human life. Under this overarching theme the congress will explore how computing and artificial intelligence are increasingly shaping neurological practice.
As usual, the EAN will welcome many other societies to Geneva to enrich our congress with collaborations and special sessions. Representatives from numerous national neurological societies, subspecialty societies, patient organisations, and medical societies from other disciplines will be with us, adding to the rich diversity of viewpoints and experiences contained in our programme.
The full programme will be completed by two sessions comprised of presentations submitted via the special Late Breaking Abstract Submission window, which is open until 27 May 2026, providing a chance to present research findings that were not yet known or fully available at the time of the standard abstract submission.
A wide range of registration options are available to suit different career stages and budgets, with savings available until 10 June 2026 and further reductions for EAN members whose membership is confirmed before 31 May 2026.
