Brain in Action – From Endogenous to Induced Brain Plasticity

Venue: RÓMULO – Centro Ciência Viva da Universidade de Coimbra

Website: www.cnc.uc.pt

Event Notes:

Neurogenesis, whether endogenous or induced, can foster neuronal replacement and prevent decline in several neurological or neurodegenerative diseases. This one-day symposium will convene leading international and national experts to explore how brain plasticity can be leveraged for regeneration and repair, offering a unique opportunity for researchers to engage directly with world leaders in neuroscience and in the direct reprogramming field. Speakers will include international specialists – Magdalena Götz (LMU Munich, Germany), Jens Christian Schwamborn (University of Luxembourg), and Jorge Valero (University of Salamanca, Spain) – alongside national reference scientists – Luísa Pinto (University of Minho, Portugal), Liliana Bernardino (University of Beira Interior, Portugal), and Simão Rocha (Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal) – who will provide an excellent and up-to-date overview of the field. The symposium will conclude with a Round Table on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Neurosciences, organized with the support of WWN.
