As part of the TREAT-NMD Educational programme the next event will be a short 2.5 hour SMA Expert Masterclass taking place on 28th June 2022 at 4pm UK time. This is an educational event aimed at clinicians and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) such as physiotherapists, nurses as well as researchers, who work closely with patients living with SMA on a regular basis. Places will be allocated to those HCPs who meet this criteria. This event will be delivered using Zoom and will include a series of lectures given by experts and discussions between experts and participants, through interactive question and answer sessions. Please note: This event is a prerequisite for the face-to-face SMA masterclass taking place in 2023. All delegates who attend this short online Masterclass can request for their application to have priority consideration for a fully funded place at the 2023 face-to-face event. Event Objectives: Provide a high quality educational and interactive opportunity for health care providers diagnosing or managing the care of patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) through information and discussion on the latest in diagnostic pathways, natural history, and internationally recognized standards of care (SoC). Provide a platform for participants to share ideas, challenges, and successes in delivering optimal care for people with SMA. Provide an overview of the current clinical trial landscape and the emerging implications for care and therapies.
