Anticipatory Medicines

Dr Trish Sealy, Consultant in Palliative Medicine at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will explore the area of anticipatory medicine appropriate for people with MND and the importance of good communication to help people understand when and why they are prescribed.

Duration: 45-60 minutes

By the end of the session you will:

• understand what anticipatory medication is available and when to use it
• know when and who to ask for help if the person you are caring for develops distressing symptoms
• appreciate the importance of good communication to help people living with MND, their family and carers understand why anticipatory medicines are prescribed
• have considered potential issues.
