The United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) 6th Annual Conference takes place on the 27th November 2014 at London’s Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) headquarters in Euston Square.
The deadline for nominations for the two prestigious UKABIF Awards – the UKABIF Award for Innovation and the UKABIF Award for Inspiration is the 18th October 2014.
Both Awards are open to people working in the field of acquired brain injury (ABI). The UKABIF Award for Innovation is open to individuals or organisations that make a difference in ABI; a lawyer/law firm, clinician, care provider, social care worker, educational or voluntary sector provider or a registered charity. The innovation can be a new invention or an improvement, for example, to an existing service. The UKABIF Stephen McAleese Award for Inspiration is for an individual in the field of ABI who has taken the lead and prompted action or invention.
Speakers at this year’s UKABIF Conference include Dr John Etherington, the National Clinical Director for Rehabilitation and Recovering in the Community, NHS England who will outline his plans for rehabilitation and community services in the new NHS, and Dr Michael Dixon, Chair of the NHS Alliance, who will be looking at the challenges and opportunities for integrated commissioning. Other topics include Best Practice, Capacity, Consent and Risk plus Ethical Dilemmas.
The meeting will be of interest to a diverse target audience including all members of the rehabilitation multidisciplinary team, doctors in primary and secondary care, case managers, personal injury lawyers, social care workers, voluntary organisations and care providers.
