Co-Editor of ACNR and Senior Staff Specialist Neurologist at Concord Hospital, Clinical Associate Professor in Medicine at the University of Sydney and Co-Director of the MS Clinic at the Brain and Mind Centre, Australia. He trained in Neurology in Sydney and London and was formerly Locum Consultant Neurologist in the Department of Neuroinflammation at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. He is Co-Chair of the NSW MS Clinical Trials Network and a Principal Investigator on a number of MS clinical trials. His main interests are multiple sclerosis and other immune-mediated central nervous system disorders.

Kirstie Anderson

ACNR’s Sleep Editor, Kirstie runs the Regional Neurology Sleep Service with a clinical and research interest in all the sleep disorders. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University, UK with an interest in the link between sleep and mental health.

Roger Barker
MRCP, PhD, F.Med.Sci.
Consulting and Founding Editor of ACNR, Professor of Clinical Neuroscience, University of Cambridge and an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair, Cambridge, UK. His main area of research is into neurodegenerative and movement disorders, in particular Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease.

Jeremy Chataway
MA, PhD, FRCP
ACNR’s Primary progressive multiple sclerosis editor and a Professor of Neurology at University College London and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), Queen Square, University College Foundation NHS Trust.
After qualifying in medicine at Cambridge and Oxford Universities, and general medical training in London, he specialised in neurology with posts in Edinburgh, Cambridge and London. He was awarded a PhD from Cambridge University in genetic epidemiology of multiple sclerosis and took up his post as a Consultant Neurologist in 2001.
He has a particular interest in advanced (such as multi-arm multi-stage) clinical trial design and is the Chief Investigator of the MS-STAT, MS-SMART and OCTOPUS trial programmes in Progressive MS. He is a Programme Lead for Neurodegeneration at the MRC Clinical Trial Unit.
Rhys Davies
MA, BMBCh, PhD, MRCP
The Editor of our Book Review Section. He is a Consultant Neurologist at the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool and at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, North Wales, UK. He has a clinical and research interest in cognitive neurology.

Marco Mula

Editor of our Epilepsy Section. He is Consultant Epileptologist at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Reader in Neurology at St George’s University of London, UK. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of Epilepsy & Behavior, a member of the Editorial Board of many journals in neurology and psychiatry including Epilepsia Open, the Journal of Epileptology and the British Journal of Psychiatry. He has a special interest in all clinical aspects of epilepsy with special reference to the cognitive and psychiatric effects of antiepileptic drugs.

Stuart Viegas

Stuart Viegas is Editor of ACNR’s myasthenia gravis (MG) series. He is a Consultant Neurologist who leads the Imperial MG and muscle service, UK. He qualified from UCL medical school before training in Wessex and London. He did his research in MG in Oxford under the supervision of Prof Angela Vincent. He is involved in clinical research projects and continues to support MG patients through the Myaware charity.
Peter Whitfield
BM (Distinction in Clin Med), PhD, FRCS Eng., FRCS, SN, FHEA
ACNR’s Neurosurgery Editor. He is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the South West Neurosurgery Centre, Plymouth, UK. His clinical interests are wide including neurovascular conditions, head injury, stereotactic radiosurgery, image guided tumour surgery and lumbar microdiscectomy. He is an examiner for the MRCS and is a member of the SAC in neurosurgery.

She completed undergraduate training at University of Glasgow Medical School, with Neurology postgraduate training at Kings College Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital. She is interested in neurorehabilitation with a focus on patients with multiple sclerosis.

Her specialist interest is in primary and secondary headache disorders having completed her original research in Cluster headache. She runs a tertiary Headache service at the NHNN and a neurostimulation MDT at Barts Health.

ACNR’s Assistant Neurosurgery Editor and a Clinical Lecturer in Neurosurgery at University of Plymouth. Ellie has a keen research interest in head injury, clinical trials and neurosurgery in older patients. She completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge, and has been active in national and international research collaboratives.

ACNR’s Neurorehabilitation Editor, Nikos is a Consultant Neurologist at Barts Health and the regional neurological rehabilitation unit (RNRU), UK. Nikos has a specialist interest in the neurological care and rehabilitation of people with acquired brain injury, including traumatic brain injury and hypoxic-ischaemic brain injury after cardiac arrest.
Colette Griffin
MBBS, MD, FRCP
Colette Griffin is Editor of ACNR’s traumatic brain injury (TBI) series. She is a Consultant Neurologist who developed and runs the traumatic brain injury service at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She qualified from The Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital before training in London. She undertook her research at the Institute of Neurology under the supervision of Professor David Miller. She is involved in TBI clinical research projects and continues to support TBI patients through the Headway charity.
Manoj Sivan
MD, FRCP
Editor of our Rehabilitation and Pain Section and Professor and Honorary Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Leeds and Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Community Healthcare NHS trusts. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Human Pain Research Group at the University of Manchester, UK. His research interests are pain medicine, autonomic medicine, rehabilitation technology, chronic conditions and outcome measurement.

Ed Newman

Editor of our Movement Disorders section. He is Consultant Neurologist at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary, UK. He has a specialist interest in movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease. He is part of the national DBS service in Scotland and runs a Parkinson’s disease telemedicine service to the Western Isles. He is also interested in medical education and runs the clinical neurosciences teaching programme for University of Glasgow’s Medical School.
Martin Punter

ACNR’s Stroke Editor. He is a Consultant Neurologist at Wellington Regional Hospital, and Clinical Senior Lecturer at University of Otago Wellington, New Zealand. Martin practices general neurology as well as working in the Capital and Coast District Health Board’s stroke service for Wellington and the Central Region Telestroke Network. Martin has clinical and research interests in stroke medicine, particularly venous stroke and coordinates the 4th Year Medical Student Neurology Module in Wellington. Martin is a member of the Association of British Neurologists, the Stroke Society of Australasia, and a member of the Overseas Trained Physicians Committee for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Michael Zandi

Consulting and former Editor of ACNR. He is Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square and UCLH, London, UK.
